NCNS는 6개의 기본색에서 출발해 24색, 72색으로 정밀하게 확장되고, 여기에 15단계의 톤이 더해져 1,080색에 이르는 분석 범위를 이룹니다. 분석가는 피부·모발·눈동자의 색을 요소추출 스케일로 측정해 이 색 체계 위에 좌표로 표시합니다. 그래서 누가 진단하더라도 결과가 일관됩니다.

By Standard, Not by Instinct
NCNS is the personal color analysis system VSTlab has refined over more than two decades. The name stands for Natural Color Neutral System — viewing one’s natural coloring from a neutral point of reference.
Most personal color analysis begins by assuming whether someone is warm-toned or cool-toned. NCNS does not. It starts from a neutral reference point, making no assumptions, and analyzes a person’s innate coloring through four axes: hue, value, chroma, and image. With no predetermined answer, the result is more precise — and more fair.
An Objective System of Color
NCNS begins with six fundamental colors, expanding precisely into 24 and then 72 colors. Combined with 15 levels of tone, it forms an analytical range of up to 1,080 colors. The analyst measures the color of skin, hair, and eyes with the Color Analysis Scale, then plots the results as coordinates within this system. It is not about sensing by instinct, but reading against a standard — which is why results stay consistent, no matter who performs the analysis.
Built on a Proven Foundation
NCNS did not arise from one person’s intuition. It is built upon the established theories of color science — the Munsell color system, the color harmony principles of Johannes Itten and Faber Birren, and the Korean Industrial Standards (KS) for color — with VSTlab’s own research added on top. Its reliability is protected by patents.
NCNS asks a simple question: should personal color be left to an analyst’s instinct, or should it be something anyone can answer by the same standard? Our answer is clear.
